CARIRI is proud to announce that it has been awarded the AMCHAM Trinidad and Tobago Award for Outstanding OSH & Environment Project (Services – Large) in recognition of its groundbreaking Rubber Crumb Project. This accolade, presented at AMCHAM’s Annual Awards Ceremony on November 11 2024, places CARIRI alongside other top organizations such as the National Energy Corporation of Trinidad and Tobago and the West Indian Tobacco Company (WITCO), who were also esteemed finalists in this highly competitive category.
The AMCHAM award reflects CARIRI’s dedication to excellence in occupational safety, health, and environmental stewardship. CARIRI’s Rubber Crumb Project is a pioneering initiative that recycles end-of-life tires into rubber crumb, addressing a critical environmental challenge while creating an eco-friendly product with broad applications. The project significantly reduces tire waste in landfills, transforming what was once an environmental hazard into a resource for industries in construction and road paving, among others.
Hans-Erich Schulz, Chief Executive Officer of CARIRI, expressed the organization’s pride in this achievement: “This award is a testament to CARIRI’s unwavering commitment to sustainability and innovation. We are honored to be recognized by AMCHAM, especially among such esteemed finalists, and we remain dedicated to delivering projects that contribute positively to the environment and society as a whole.”
The AMCHAM Trinidad and Tobago Award for Outstanding OSH & Environment Project (Services – Large) is presented annually to organizations that demonstrate leadership in occupational safety and health as well as environmental responsibility. CARIRI’s achievement underscores its role as a leader in the field, inspiring others to adopt sustainable and innovative practices that safeguard the environment and promote safe, healthy communities.
