Calibration and Maintenance Services (CAMS) is pleased to announce the acquisition of the Fluke 9132 Portable IR calibrator, revolutionizing our infrared thermometer calibration capabilities. This equipment operates across a precise temperature range of 50°C to 500°C, enabling highly accurate calibrations for a wide array of industrial and scientific applications. Industries increasingly rely on non-contact infrared thermometers for safety-critical measurements, our new service ensures compliance, reliability, and peak performance.

Infrared thermometers have become an indispensable tool in manufacturing, food processing, HVAC systems, pharmaceuticals, and quality control labs. They measure temperatures without physical contact, reducing contamination risks and speeding up processes. However, their accuracy degrades over time due to environmental factors, sensor drift, or wear. Regular calibration against a trusted reference—like our Fluke black body calibrator—restores precision to within manufacturer specifications, often achieving uncertainties as low as ±0.5°C.

Black body calibrators emulate an ideal “black body” radiator, which emits thermal radiation predictably according to Planck’s law. Unlike traditional contact methods, this non-contact standard perfectly simulates the conditions infrared thermometers encounter in real-world use.

This acquisition positions Calibration and Maintenance Services at the forefront of thermal metrology. Previously limited by narrower-range equipment, we can now handle high-volume calibrations for clients requiring extended temperature spans.

This method surpasses ice-point or boiling-water checks, providing true radiance-based accuracy for IR devices.
